The new year starts with a new training and capacity building event by the members of the COMPETEN-SEA project. After a successful first workshop in Malaysia, the consortium members are organising from 10 – 12 January 2018 a second training workshop on the design of Massive Open Online Courses for disadvantaged communities in the Philippines. The training event is organised by the University of the Philippines System and Ateneo de Manila University-Institute of Philippine Culture in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Pangasinan. The training event starts off on 10 January 2018 in Manila with a full day program on management aspects, institutional issues and business models for Massive Open Online Courses and will be continued in the Pangasinan region on 11 and 12 January 2018 to work closely together with the project stakeholders in the field. The focus community in the Philippines are rural health workers.
